Ida Karelsen lives in Southern Ontario where she finds local hardwoods and turns them into useful kitchen utensils and display boards. Ida’s background is in landscape design and much about her love for design has been the challenge in finding lines and shapes that are appealing and natural. After an initial rough cut on a saw, each board and spoon is carefully shaped with simple hand tools until the final shape is produced.
Ida feels blessed to turn a once strong, growing tree that no longer stands into a kitchen tool to be shared with families for many more years to come.
